Graduation – the time of year when families get together to celebrate the great accomplishments of loved ones. It’s a momentous occasion you never want to forget.

As a proud parent, you’ll want to record the entire graduation ceremony. And let’s not forget about all the pictures you’ll take of your graduate with the grandparents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins, and their friends.

The question is how do you share all of that easily? The video of the graduation ceremony will be quite large, and there are probably hundreds, if not thousands of pictures that need to be shared. The answer is simple; just use a Transporter private cloud storage device.

We’ll be the first people to tell you that cloud services are great. They provide a level of convenience that can be hard to beat.

How many of you use DropBox? Carbonite? YouSendIt?

As you know, DropBox takes care of all your simple cloud sharing needs. It’s easy to share pictures of the family or have quick access to important documents on a regular basis. Carbonite acts as a personal cloud storage device, backing up all of your important files, and YouSendIt let’s you send large files to anyone (via a link the recipient downloads the file from).

All of these services are very useful, but isn’t it odd that you need to use all three? Wasn’t the cloud supposed to be easy? Why couldn’t there be something that took the place of all three? Did you know a private cloud storage device like Transporter can replace all three services?

Unless you’re using the free version of DropBox, you’ll have a monthly fee to pay for additional storage with Dropbox, pay to back up your files with Carbonite, and pay to send large files with YouSendIt. If you’re using all three services to accomplish this, that’s a minimum subscription fee of $340 per year. With Transporter, there are no subscription fees. All you do is buy the product and set it up. That’s it.

So instead of using three services, just use a Transporter.

We may have been quiet on our blog, but behind the scenes we've been working hard since we launched our Kickstarter campaign back in January. Feedback on the product has been very strong and we’re very excited about the customer response. Much to our surprise, businesses are very excited about Transporter. We initially envisioned this as a consumer product that some people might also find useful at work, but we’re finding loads of businesses like legal, healthcare, and education that are very interested in utilizing private cloud storage to keep their data private and secure. We’ve been hiring like crazy to keep up with the pace of demand. We’ve been meeting with all sorts of partners to make Transporter available everywhere. In other words, it’s been a very busy 3 months. Here are some of the highlights:

Blew past our initial Kickstarter goal within 10 days and have since found happy homes for thousands of Transporter devices
Traveled tens of thousands of miles to meet with potential channel partners – and signed up every single one of them
International demand for the product is very strong, and we will have some exciting news on that front very, very soon
Won the prestigious Art of Storage award at the CES Storage Visions Conference
Won the Mac Observer Editors Choice Award at MacWorld
Updated our software in February and saw a 5x performance boost
Launched our iOS app in March and have about a thousand customers already using it

Best of all, we have a very active customer base, and we appreciate every piece of feedback we have received. The feedback to date has been invaluable and will help us continue to improve the customer experience. That’s it for now. Tune in next week for more news and information.
